I asked HSPHERE

Q: Hi, I would like to use Hsphere to create something like geocities that
allows users to upgrade to bannerless pay hosting in the future. Does
Hsphere allow that?

A: Yes, H-Sphere can be used as a freehost, BUT there is only one thing that you may lack: it doesn't add banners to users' sites. So if you want to have this feature, you would have to add it by yourself.

What do you guys think? I would like to allow freehosting with a option to upgrade to bannerless payhosting. Whats the best software to add banners? Whats the best ad management software? Thanks

I believe there is a mod for apache that will add a banner on every page. I don't know if the mod has also the option to turn it off for some virtual hosts. So you have to search for that.

Good luck and let us know if you found a solution.

mod_layout will add headers/footers to all pages for the virtualhosts you tell it to. The only downfall is you will get a high cpu usage when doing this. You can still push a substantial amount of pages with this(1Mil+).

I need a script that will add header and footer to every html page that gets uploaded to curtain virtual accounts.

I read somewhere that cpanel would allow you to do this, I'm not positive though.

Hello:

I too, would like more information on this subject.....

However, I thought HSphere allowed you to place a header/footer in the pages....

I opted not to use Hsphere because of their $4.50 per user fee... with giving out free accounts, I felt this was just not economical. Plus I have a low capital, so their initial minimum payment of $500 US is not atractive.... However I like all of their built in features such as the billing and automated account creation....

Any help on this area would be appreciate to me as well.

Thanks people.
Mike.
