Yes, it's called a PC, it's not portable at all, but has plenty of HDD space :)

also own an ipod and we have an nec mp3 / wma / video clip player in the office.

I use a Sony NetMD player. Connects to the computer using USB, and you can transfer music (mp3s, etc) to it, so it's basically an mp3 player :-)

A cheap ($3) Minidisc will hold up to 4 hours of music.

Having said that, I'm seriously considering buying an iPod.

Creative Nomad II (64mb smart media). It's trash now though. I've dropped it a few many times and the lcd doesn't always work when you turn it on. Plus it barfs on variable bitrate songs(well it'll play some fine, others it won't at all, and others it'll start playing than lock up 10-20 seconds in)
