I am looking for info on getting a digital camera. Where is a site that I can learn some more about the technology, I have used a friends before and liked it a lot. I am looking at getting one in the next two months or so before christmas.

Anyone know of some good cameras that are not too expensive under 700 or so would be nice. Or any sites that are good that list deals on cameras/reviews

I'll be doing digital camera shopping soon too. I keep borrowing everyone elses. :) One thing though, while I do like the kodak they seem to have a bad time getting clear pictures. I've gotten a few out, but many of the pictures were blurry and it's a pain when you're on vacation and the camera won't work with the OS on your laptop so you can't empty the pictures anywhere... you get home only to find 80% of the vacation photos are unusable. :(

I'm considering going sony myself. I just wish they'd make some of the camera's look more camera-ish.

Good luck in your search for the camera that fits you. ;)

Justin, you wouldn't have tried out the Kodak DC3400 by chance would ya? Just curious since my next item to buy is a dig camera too... (and my budget's only about US$360 (=AU$720) :( )

B..C? Now there's a name I ain't heard in forever and a day... :)

If you're after a Kodak it's best to spend a bit and get above the plastic 'junky' cameras they sell. The DC4800 is a sweet camera and the one I'm looking at. Anything below $1000 AU is going to be a toy. The one I mention is $1249AU and is a 3.1 megapixel, 3x powerzoom (optical) with 48 meg flashcard onboard.

Of course you can never go past almost any Olympus model camera. :)

Something called exams, work, stress, personal problems and everything in between, Greg :D (I've also been working more behind the scenes than anything..)

So basically what you're saying is if I spend anything less than $1000 I shouldn't expect too much at all? :) (2.2 megapixel cameras will do me for now...)

I have a Kodak DC280 - about a year and half. It work great for web stuff. A medium resolution (800 X 600) I can get about 170 pics on my 32 meg card. If I want a small portion I can increase the resolution and crop.

Nice to see you're still here now and then though... Chicken's not been the same - I think he's taking his take of sleep due to the McNugget out on the rest of us... :stickout:

:unhappy: sleep? what is sleep? AHHHHHH! :buck: :uhh: :cartman:

I like the small size of my Canon PowerShot S100 2.1 MP still hovering around what I bought it for, $500

But even my old 800x600 Olympus worked great.

I used a DC240 and was looking at the DX3somethings and some others. I found some reviews on one of the sites like cnet or something talking about blurry pictures which scared me. I hate retaking photos especially when it takes $200 for a plane ticket to go back and take them again. :)
