I am about to go with ChoonHost.net Their prices and stated uptime are quite impressive. However, I would want to ask around for comments about them.

Thanks!

The domain record for choonhost.com was created just 6 weeks
ago. IMO, this host has not been operating at the current
domain name for a length of time that could establish "uptime
reliability". It appears that choonhost is a Singapore based
Reseller of an Arizona host provider:

Unless you are trying to promote obscure hosting companies
that have never before received any mention or comments on any
of the threads at webhostingtalk, why don't you save yourself
some time and search for several of the hosts that are spoken
highly of in the threads on this site, who offer great service,
reliability, uptime, and price their services fairly. Where did you
find "choonhost" and why are you impressed enough with their
offer to be on the verge of doing business with them ?

Yellowed, in case you didn't realize it, choon is a member of the forum:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=4550

And he seems like he's not hiding that he's a reseller (judging by his signature here)...

ChoonHost.net
A honest reseller that offers hosting plans @ reasonable prices with no setup fee, 99% uptime guarantee, limited 30 days money back guarantee and 15 days free trial.

This is a good, fair question. I was wondering the same thing since most host offer over 99% uptime.

Hello everyone :)

Thanks for the interest about my new startup hosting business :D

Thanks creid for your recommendation :)

Thanks Chicken for clarifying about who is *running* ChoonHost.net ;)

Yes, I own choonhost.com & choonhost.net. Through whois record, you guys will be able to know that I live in Singapore including my address and phone number.

If anyone of you curious about my services, please do not hesitate to email me, PM me, AIM me... just check my profile in this forum :)

Basically I have sent my special offer to kyutums via email since kyutums has requested in the Web Hosting Requests forum. I have also answered a question about subdomain asked through email.

Yes, it is a fair question and if any hosts here can meet kyutums's requirements such as budget, reliable service, uptime guarantee etc... like UmBillyCord is saying that most hosts can provide more... then simply post your offer to kyutums :)

I take no hard feeling about if kyutums final decision is to host his site with other host as I do believe that a new startup business in this trade has to face this type of challenge and as long as kyutums is happy with his decision :D

Once again, thanks everyone :D

To our success!

Kindest regards,
Choon

Actually, I like (very much) what Choon is offering. In fact, he was the only able to give what I needed. I just wanted to see if anyone had any other comments about them. Consider me a cautious shopper. :)

thebyp2 , you are right, I was a bit too harsh in my reply
earlier here to kyutums , if we accept that he started the
2 threads at Web Hosting Forum that are now the most prominent ones on the thread list, only to ask other members
for opinions on 2 "relatively" unknown hosting providers.
(I know that I am not helping by posting now and keeping this
thread alive, but it was at the top of the list already before this
new post).

No disrespect to Choon is intended. I sincerely wish him the best of luck in his new webhosting business venture.

Chicken: Thank you for bringing to my attention the fact
that Choon is a hosting provider member here. I did not know that before my last post, but I did search the forum before I
posted, and the only post that surfaced in search results that
contained any reference to Choon's new service, was by
kyutums, on this thread.

Success on the web is about getting your name out. Promotion is
the key to that goal. Everyone does it. I agree with the goal
here of keeping business promotion in forums that are designated for that specific purpose. I disagree with any member
who starts a new thread each time that member is especially
impressed with a web host who most of us have never heard of.
It could be a perfectly innocent practice to do this, but there is a
search function on this forum, and there are adequate ways, IMO,
to solicit opinions about web host providers other than starting
a new thread to ask about a specific web host. I suggest that
this thread and kyutum's other "host specfic" thread be
moved to a host advertising venue elsewhere on this forum, in
fairness to all competitors.

I don't post often at webhostingtalk because I do not want to
be viewed as a promoter of my own web business efforts. I have,
however, bought services from other members here who are
very active posters. and I do not hold that against any of them.
I want to have a reputation for being opinionated, but with
integrity. I don't see a way to do that, while at the same time,
posting a lot more messages here that mention products or
service providers that I have not already done business with.
I would only post about one of them if I genuinely believed that
it would be helpful to other members to consider using or
avoiding a product or service that I have either been very pleased with or very disappointed with.
Maybe I'm just not bold or aggressive enough to exploit these
threads the way I've seen some members do, but I support the
efforts of Matt and the moderators to seperate promotion from
members just helping and supporting other members. And.....I'll try to be less suspicioous and cynical in future posts. :(

Hello yellowed,

I think nothing wrong for any members ask for comments about a host whether it is new or old right? If a member of this forum only allow to ask comments about an old host... then all new host will never get a chance for *review* or *comments* from other members here.

In fact, if I am kyutums... I will be posting here to ask for comments also if a new host is able to offer me something good and within my budget ;)

kyutums, please do not jump in straight for my offer... maybe you will receive more offers from other hosts and you can take your time to make your decision if you are not in a rush.

Just my thoughts...

Regards,
Choon

I'm not sure what your other proposed methods of soliciting opinions about web hosting providers are aside from starting a thread and asking? Although searching is the first thing one should always do, choon posted an offer not too long ago (10/11) and I think it is fair to say that someone might have signed up, yet not posted a thread about their experiences. Seems fair to ask if anyone on the forum had used them.

Well, this is a member asking about a host in the correct forum. The advertising forums are for hosts themselves to promote their own services and products.
