I've been putting off asking someone for help... But over the past year, my TV has been crapping out and I really don't want to buy a new one.

I'll explain below:

It all started when my TV started to get really fuzzy on any channel below 50, unless it had been "warmed up" for 30 minutes... Then pretty soon, if I left it on channel 50 for 15-20 minutes, the signal would get crossed with another channel til I shut it off - weird, right? Well It kept this up til today.. When things got a LOT worse:

My TV has reached an all time low, the color is going out (I think) - I'll draw a picture, to show what I mean.

Green = G
Red = R
Blue = B
Normal = N

BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB
BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB
BBGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGBB
BGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGB
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGG
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
RRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNRR
RRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNRR

- That is what every single channel looks like, its like putting the matching color mask (Blue, moving to green, to red, to normal - from top to bottom), over the screen of whatever is being shown...

Is there anyway I can fix this? Without paying $50+ that is; and if not, where can I find good, low priced, decent sized TVs? :eek:

Some info on the TV: Its 8 years old, its an RCA (Unknown make)

It probably needs to be degaussed. If its an old TV and you have speakers around it or any kind of magnetic field that may do it. Depending on how old the TV is, it may be beyond repair. The radioshack by my house has a degaussing ring you can rent for like $10, but you would have to check your local stores, They are also quite easy to make yourself with a coat hanger, I'll see if I can find you some plans.

Newer TV's have degaussing built in and its done everytime the TVs turned on and off..

I remember there was a thread here on degaussing.

Oh yeah it defently has electrical devices by it - an outlet, two VCR's, a PS1, dreamcast (unplugged *shrug*), and a computer not 10 feet away (through a wall, but thin wall)... Could that be doing it?

Oh it also has built in speakers... I could really use that coat hanger thing... Its safe, right?
