Yes, I believe that link about sums it up.

95th Percentile, IMHO is the way to go. It is cheaper than paying for the actual total usage in most cases too.

With 95th % rule, you normally pay 2-3x more that an average bill.

in a hosting company point of view i find that 1meg average is roughly 1.6 megs 95th

Hey jayglate,

Interesting. A couple of us "hosters" were sitting around and found on average, 95th % is about 2.1X average. We should run a survey! :)

I want to know onething. On every hosting deal whether its dedicated, virtual or private server every company gives bandwith quota permonth. Suppose 100GB of bandwith is the quota. Does 95 Percentile+Rule applies to all the deals.
Can we call 95 Percentile rule a hidden cost.
