View Full Version : What about a full Merchant account ??
CRego3D 10-08-2000, 10:47 PM It's been discussed here several alternatives to a merchant account (revecom, instabill, paypal, etc ..)
Now, what about a Merchant account ? who has the best prices out there ? anybody using verisign's solution ?
I'm currently using paypal, but need something better and would just rather go with a full merchant account
Thank you

Since it appears you're on Alabanza too... you need to get cybercash AND a merchant account if you want the DSM to do automatic billing for you. You may be able to work something out with just a merchant account, but you would not be able to use the DSM billing system w/o cybercash. However, I hear that in the beginning of 2001 they will be adding more gateways to the billing system, such as authorize.net, etc.
Google 10-09-2000, 02:14 AM Cybercash is very good but if you a start up it can be expensive for you.You need to register your company to get a business account for the merchant account.

How long you have used them? And how they translate money? (Send you checks, or wire to your account in bank?)

CRego3D 10-09-2000, 10:40 AM Brian,
Yes, at the moment I'm with Alabanza, but I will soon be moving to VDI so the DSM is not an issue for me anymore...
Travis 10-10-2000, 06:55 AM If you're a Costco member, look into their merchant account option. It's serviced by Nova, which is one of the big few of the credit card processors.
I've been using them for about a year now without a hitch. Good rates for Costco members, too. (Worth the $100/year membership fee.) Also, they were very friendly toward getting my merchant account set up to work with VeriSign's Payflow Pro - quite seamless.
Discounts rates are competitive; I don't remember the exact numbers offhand.
I second Travis on the Costco Merchant Account.
%2.04 $.21 per transaction $14 mo cybercash.
DynastyHost, how much are you charged for your cybercash gateway?

Does thay have any e-mai by which I could contact them? On site I found only phone numbers.
I looked but I couldn't find the e-mail address that I had for NOVA. I don't recommend the sales rep that I had anyway. It would take her a full 24 Hours to answer my voice mail and e-mail was only one way communication. I'd e-mail her and not hear back. But in the end she got the job done and the application pushed through. Every one else that I delt at with NOVA was real responsive and friendly though.
CRego3D 10-18-2000, 06:39 PM thank you all for your help, expecially DynastyHost :)
I just signed up with Harbor-Net, I shopped around and indeed they have one of the best price (I'm goint to be using authorize.net with them) ... and I manage to get the gateway fee dropped to 12.50 ;-)
