Hi guys:
I'm in the process of possibly setting up a new server, and was wondering if any server junkies here could comment on which is more powerful, a RaQ3i with 256MB RAM or Linux 600 Mhz with same amount of RAM. Obviously, I wish to go with the more robust one.

The Linux Server.
The Processor in a RaQ3i, is an AMD 300mhz. As you stated in the Linux Box, it would be a Pentium 3 600. Well a Pentium 3 600 is going to be way way way faster than a RaQ3i, which contains the AMD 300mhz.

Raqs come with processor speeds as well you need to ask your vendor for its speed.
I do know someone who bought a raq3 with 256k or ram and the processor was 300mhz
sooo if the specs are the same the linux box is more powerful
what the raq gives you is it cool control panel.

All the RaQ3 or 3i's come with that same AMDK6-2 300Mhz chip... wish you could order it with a PIII 800, but alas, nope.

thats what I thought. But wasn't 100% certain
Yeah it would be cool if processor speed could be upgraded with the raqs. Then I think they would be trully the way to go.
