My host told me to change my nameservers to a pair of new ones. I use gkg.net for my domain, and so I went there, in my CP, added the new nameservers. Got the email saying a modification to the DNS was changed and that it should take up to 48 ours for the changes to take effect.

I did this a week ago, and it is still doesnt seem to have taken effect.

I use Cpanel for my host, so I go into Network Tools, do a lookup on my Domain, and it still shows my old Namservers, not the new ones.

Anyone who uses gkg.net ever have this experience? Does it usually take this long for a DNS change?

For me, I am using Enom. It is usually done in 24 to 48 hours , although they told me to allow 48 to 72 hours.

Contact the support if you have any problems.

Actually a client of ours experienced this problem once. Their domain registrar took over 2 weeks to update their zone files, even after repeated requests.

I suggest emailing gkg.net and tell them it's been over a week already and ask when they plan to update their zone files.

If they don't help, maybe it's time to find a new registrar ;)

Well I sent off an email to Gkg explaining the problems, so hopefully I'll hear from them in this lifetime.

Some ISP just take their sweet old time to accept the propagated changes :( What's the domain name?

As long as the change has been entered correctly it should go through... As stated some are just pretty slack about getting the job done. In my experience Dotster would have to be one of the fastest I've ever seen, in some cases being about to connect to a domain in under 12 hours.

weird. I did a whois on my domain using gkg.net's whois feature, and both the new DNS nameservers show up. I do the lookup on my Cpanel for my host and it shows up using the old nameservers.

I did a whois using Network Solutions WHOIS feature, and it too shows the new DNS nameservers entered. Im gonna send in another TT to my webhost and ask whats up.
