I am looking for a relatively cheap host that offers subdomains. I looked at http://www.az-webhost.com/ and they are offering what I need. However, I would want to see more options, if there are.

Thanks!

If you are after an efficient solution, you could consider the sub-domain iRedirector from http://www.scripts24.com which will run a complete subdomain service for you. Needs a bit of support from the Host (wildcard DNS), but once it is up and running you'll love it.

Cheers

You could use those subdomain scripts, but I haven't had any experience with them, not personally sure how well they work.

Good luck with your search :)

I saw a GPL script at Hotscripts.com that also does subdomains. (http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/4395.html) Has anyone tried this?

I installed Iredirector Subdomain version a few days ago and I
am very happy with the ease of installation and performance.
It also seems to have solved a nagging Cpanel subdomain
addressing shortcoming. Wildcards and a devoted IP address
seem to be required, but it is not necessary to set up
Subdomains conventionally throught Cpanel. Visitors can set
them up automatically. There is an option to restrict subdomain
creation to the domain admin only, or to limit visitors to just
one subdomain per email address. I am using one script on one
domain to control subdomain creation and managment on
ten domains, all on the same server. The script also permits
domain forwarding/redirection. No, I don't work for Iredirector,
I'm enthusiastic because I searched for an inexpensive php script solution for several months !

www.valuablehost.com has great subdomain support. They are cheap too. Their page is being redone right now so there isn't all that much info there but they should be up and running soon. Check them out.

While I like HostEXP, what is the sense of suggesting a host who hasn't had a page up for weeks, with no way of signing up? Once that is taken care of, then...

Page says Valuablehost running shortly. Not much to check out.

IMHO, if you don't need emails for the sub domains (sale sales@sub.domain.com) it is better to use scripts to create sub domains for your domain.

You need to ensure that *.yourdomainname is entered in the DNS server. With most of the scripts/codes dediacted IP is must.
