Generally I've noticed, that reseller accounts come with a lot more bandwith for a lot less money. That said, is it bad or unallowed to use a reseller account to host a single site?

Just curious, thanks.

Yes you can use a resellers account to host a single site.

What you do with the resources is your business.

Host your own site, your own sites, host family/friends or paid clients. It doesn't matter.

Hi

No, it is not bad or unallowed at all. What you decide to host with the reseller space and how many sites you host is totally up to you.

Many hosts may prefer it, as 1 site usually uses less server resources then multiple sites. :)

Some people say that is the hardest part :|

Ditto. In most cases just get what you need (or think that you will need), you will always have the ability to upgrade to a larger plan and as long as you stay with the same host nothing has to change except for them opening up more space for you.

Good Luck :)

yeah and don't get hooked into paying more then month to month. I know a discount looks good on paper but if you have to leave it's easier to brush off a small amount of money if you do choose the wrong reseller.

Another perk of reseller accounts you don't usually get with a shared account is private nameservers and a dedicated IP. :)

I have an account on HTTPme just for the reason of more bandwidth and space. Plus, as mentioned, you get the addition of unlimited pop3, sub domains, domain parking, databases, etc as long as you stay within the terms. Plus the support rocks :)

I would love 40 resellers per server paying $35/mo and only hosting one site. Ah, if only it could be....

RossMan is right, you are free to use it the way you like it.
If you find it more economical to use a reseller account, why not.

I use a reseller account to host only 2 sites right now. Sometimes the space+bandwidth to price ratio is indeed better with reseller plans.

With reseller accounts, it's also easy to hand out individual accounts when friends or family need webspace.

I think webhosts would actually love it if most reseller accounts held only a few actual sites. :)

You paid for it,you can choose either to allow to host other sites or only your own personal site.
