I am going to make a personal website for myself buti have no idea what to make it look like. I put a few ideas on paper but none of them seemed good.

Can someone give me a layout (just a sketch in paint or sumfin) to help or give me some suggestions???

What topic will your site focus on? One good way to get 'inspiration' is just to browse the net looking for sites similar in interest to what you want to built.

its just a site about me, will have a few things on it like some graphics work i have done

I would suggest just a fairly simple design and a blog. My site that does around the same thing is at http://www.Kryptenx.com

I agree, the simpler - the better when it comes to personal pages. They are too often ruined by overusage of free shining and blinking cliparts.

I think even no graphics layout might look very decent. In my opinion it's the best way when you don't have a gread deal of designing experience.

ok, my first site was very simple, but very effective... its old and will never be updated, but it was very cool.

all it was, was an simple html site with no tables, and only 2 colors: green and black (I sware I made that site before the xbox was out, really.). The only fansy thing about it was the images which i got from www.flamingtext.com .

The best way(s) to get ideas is to look through template selling sites, under your respective catagory

I would check freelayouts.com, they have a lot of good free templates, and a lot to choose from.
