thedavid 02-22-2004, 03:41 AM We've heard it before - lets hope this time it's true:
http://news.google.com/news?q=osama&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&c2coff=1&sa=G&edition=us&scoring=d
(pick any of the stories about it - all pretty much the same)
Antipas 02-22-2004, 03:47 AM I do not know what would be better news they have him captured or they killed him.
Shyne 02-22-2004, 03:50 AM I guarantee you that he will be caught by November.
2Grumpy 02-22-2004, 03:57 AM November is an awful long time from now, what makes you say November?
I hope they catch him, but if they kill him he'll just be more powerful in the hearts of his followers, martyrdom can be a powerful tool.
I guarantee he will be caught or killed before June. However, some people would like to announce that later on :)
RMF
reanncw 02-22-2004, 03:59 AM He's done too much harm. He will get caught sooner or later. Thats fate :)
FHDave 02-22-2004, 04:01 AM November is an awful long time from now, what makes you say November?
November is the election day :)
Torith 02-22-2004, 04:01 AM just wondering why you think before June? If he has been out of the USA reach this long what stops him from doing it longer?

This is not his fate, this is his retribution.
They are waiting to see how the Supreme Court rules on the Padilla and other guy case. If they can't try him the way they want, they'll just kill him.
KIA-Joe 02-22-2004, 04:36 AM He'll get caught by November ...
You sound like crazy conspiracy theorists or ignorant morons. You pick.

Right. I wasn't able to remember that word. Heh, so just used Fate :)

Really? You think so? Why?
What the government tells you doesn't make it real.
LinuxAdmin 02-22-2004, 10:13 AM The times of India is not a credible news source, also note they have news from The Farce on the google page, which just shows the quality of news sources google has.
I will believe it when a major news source posts it.
thedavid 02-22-2004, 10:16 AM Scroll down - that was posted 7+ hours ago :) It's more than indian times, that's reported this.

My statement had nothing to do with what the government has told me.
I was just stating a fact.

No you were stating an opinion.
Rob83 02-22-2004, 10:36 AM Yes. He'll be "caught" in Nov. or the next time Bush really screws up.
Hiccups 02-22-2004, 11:15 AM And if he ISN'T caught by November you will be complaining about THAT.

not really.
adorno 02-22-2004, 11:40 AM Hey people, get real!
Whether Osama is caught just before November (close to election), or way before, Bush will be the benefiary as far as the election goes, and that's just the benefits of the job. Whoever is in power will benefit from good news, whether democrat or republican, whether you like it or not.
The better way of viewing the demise of Bin Laden is that the whole world benefits, even the terrorists, because many of them will turn their energies to other causes, maybe even to bettering their own lives.

It's a great dream isn't it. But that's all it is, a dream. These terrorists are so 'wound up' against the West that they will just be made stronger by whatever happens to Bin Laden. They have been brainwashed too much. :(

Yes, it's a dream.
But, it's been demonstrated in the past that if you eliminate a leader, his money, or the cause for his terrorism, that the terrorist group disbands or finds other causes. Martyrdon may follow Osama's demise, ensue, but martyrdom is generally short-lived. He will be remembered forever, but his martyrdom will fade.
As long as there are differences of opinion, as long as people feel disenfranchised, as long as you have poor and starving, as long as you have different religious beliefs, as long as you have people wanting to grab power, there will be terrorism. A lot of terrorism is not based on noble causes. Bin Laden is not fighting for any noble cause other than wanting the world to be unified under one religion: he wants one Islamic world.
Khadafi from Lybia is not as much a leader in terrorist circles as he used to be. There will be less terrorism simply as a result of Saddam Hussein being out of power. Once Arafat is out of the picture in the middle east, people will be looking for other directions.
Eliminate the causes and leaders and you eliminate terrorism.
But you will always have people with their own crazy values and causes. So, terrorism, in one form or another will continue.
Acroplex 02-22-2004, 03:09 PM Funny, those links don't contain any stories on Osama being captured anymore.
The Dude 02-23-2004, 05:43 PM I think its silly these ppl stay in arms reach!!!!!
Hussein was in his country wasnt he????? You would think they would get as far away from and break contact with everyone!!!
I dunno
The Dude :)
mp3sattack 02-24-2004, 12:35 AM hahhaa of course he'll be captured by november, LOL
Hiccups 02-24-2004, 12:40 AM That would be a GOOD thing IMO.

Hussein was captured quite a while before we "got him" by the kurds and held underground in that little bunker thingie and then they turned him over to us in a trade for (who knows what).
Hussein was many things but not stupid, had he had a chance he'da cleaned up, shaved/dyed his hair, whatever and left Iraq but I don't think he had the chance.
justwandr 02-24-2004, 01:19 AM US made osma and had many chances of getting him over the years but never tried to get him before....and now he has much support and it isn't without a reason either...
I personally believe if pakistan really had wanted to capture osma they would have gotten him already and even if he was in afghanistan... he has much support in my country and it isn't without a reason either...
back in the days when the US had pakistan do all the dirty work to fight the russians they promised billions in aid to pakistan to recover but never gave that aid instead posed sanctions..
country that is already poor had to support millions of afgans that came to pakistan during the war and stayed...they worked for half of what pakistanis were paid which wasn't much either...ppl lost everything due to this and its all becouse of the US.
I think pakistan is the 2nd biggest exporter of cocaine suprising that we don't really make it but comes from afghanistan so now everyone does drugs...ppl gotta blame some one for all this so why not US if it wasn't for them trying to beat the russians...we wouldn't have many of problems we have today...but pak is going to get osma soon i guess
btw I meant to cause no offense or trouble its just that some people think ppl hate the US for no reason...those people who lost there children and homes think otherwise...
o yea coming back to the point now that the US has offered much support to pak n gave some of that aid they had promised earlier few more things and you might as well see osma captured :)
sid007 02-24-2004, 04:56 AM Just look at the number of hits the auction got
