OK, can someone give me suggestions how to identify actual hosting from reseller? I have moved webhost more than eight time already and all of them were resellers. My impression is that they did not know what they were doing. I want to find an actual webhosting company who actually have a good knowledge of what they are doing. But I have no idea how to identify one from the other. Is it possible that the actual one's price will be higher than the reseller one?:bawling:

One of the simplest ways to tell is if the company offers reseller accounts then they most likely have there own servers and know what they are doing.

Generally speaking, if a physical host (who offers their own commercial line) provides services for resellers, they do so at a better price than their own. What the reseller does to that price is up to them. Some may try to undercut their provider.
The best way is just to ask them mate. If they don't tell you the facts up front, keep looking. If someone wants to hide it enough, they can do so. Some wholesale providers will help their resellers to do just that. There's nothing wrong with resellers per se...some concentrate very much on providing you with a better level of service than they might even get from their wholesale provider in the first place...but you'll know once you find the host that's right for "you".

I can't speak for all resellers, but I am a reseller and I know I charge less than what my provider does for the same plans. It really depends on what kind of discounts the main company provides to the reseller, I operate on a 50% discount.
