I am a newbie on mysql and php. I want to install phpnuke for my site but I am not so sure about mysql account. Why some host say that I can use mysql file size as larger as my account, but some say that the mysql is separated from my account and the size is unlimited.

depend on how your hosting work
some have limited to mysql and some take the space from your web hosting account.

Thanks. The reason I ask is that I am not so sure what to do if the database is over the quota in case of phpnuke. Are they gonna charge extra? If I want to delete part of the database how to do so? I have no idea. Maybe the best way is to look for those who offer unlimited mysql. Is that correct?

does your account on hosting have phpMyAdmin? if so you can just drop the table(part).

does your host limit you about the size of mysql database? if so they may charge you for that. just read at your host TOS to confirm it.
