View Full Version : How are These Companies?

I have looked at a lot of hosts the last few days and have liked some and disliked some. I want to throw a few hosts out there and see who has experience with them and any impressions good or bad. I am willing to be cyber-slapped if this sort of thing isn't allowed :)

Apix
Hostforweb
Host Lead
Downtown Host

I am using Apix. I haven't had a single problem yet. When I have a question their support team is right there to answer, and they are courteous about it. Their server is very fast, and has minimal downtime.

As for the other companies I only know of Downtownhost and I haven't heard anything bad about them. I beleive the owner of the company visits hear quite often.

Any thoughts about http://www.hostforweb.com? I'm going to host my site with them. Anyone tried their services?

Downtownhost's owner Jedito (Jorge) is very helpful. I always got replies within 24 hours. Sometimes even within an hour.

if you are considering downtownhost, you may also consider sexy-hosting.com which is also operated by Jedito.

For the other three, never heard of them.

Very very late on the draw here but if it makes any difference, I've hosted with hostforweb and I haven't had any complaints yet.

Signatures are appended to messages as the thread page is written, so signatures even on old messages are the users' current signatures, not necessarily the ones that were in place when the message was written. So, presumably, that wasn't his signature at the time.

Most likely he was one of the [too] many hosts that comes on here anonymously and posts/asks about his company to try and make it look good. 99.9% of the time it doesn't work, and presumably it didn't work for him either.
