View Full Version : Promoting a Lounge (aka Bar). It's attached to a restaurant.
Liguidsoul 02-19-2004, 11:28 PM -Karaoke
-Happy Hours (cheaper drinks)
-Live Entertainment
-Free buffet bar once a week
Those are traditional ideas that everyone does in a Lounge. What are some other ideas you have seen or can you think of any new ones? Trying to thinking of ones that would make it unique and busier than any other Lounge.
Trifolic 02-19-2004, 11:29 PM What is the age group that usually hangs out there?
Liguidsoul 02-19-2004, 11:40 PM 21 and up, it's like a sports bar type thing.
21-40ish would be a good guess.
Trifolic 02-19-2004, 11:49 PM There are a few bars around here that have contests every thursday night. And when they do they are packed, sometimes you can't even get it. Things like:
Best Lap dance
Smallest Thong
Beer Pong
Best Chest (Guys)
Lingerie Shows
And tons of others, Get yourself a good announcer and you're all set.
Free beer will do it :stickout:
Liguidsoul 02-19-2004, 11:53 PM I know what you mean, but the restaurant it is attached to is more of a "high-scale" type restaurant, like TGI Friday's.
The things you mention seem to be games that are played at "Joe's Bar." This one is slightly more classy than what you probably have in mind.
With that said, I do appreciate your input. If you can think of anything else I would be greatful.
Edit: And regarding the free beer comment, it is against the law to serve free alcoholic beverages in the State of Michigan.
What about coupons at the front door/newspapers/mail that are "Buy two get one free" type of deal. If you offer good prices, have a good location, and offer great services they will get them coming and they will come back for more.
Trifolic 02-20-2004, 12:08 AM azo313, Sorry didn't know it was a "high-scale" type of place, Maybe just any kind of contest would work. American Idol seems to be one of the most popular things on TV right now, why not have your own little "Your Bar/Resturant Idol" Pretty much anything with a little bit of interactivity between the staff and the customers will attract people.
I was going to say give free drinks to women with Ladies' Night. But since free drinks are illegal, you can still have Ladies Night. Have something like Ten Cent Tuesdays. All drinks for women are ten cents.
This will bring in plenty of women...which, I guarantee, will also bring in plenty of men. ;)

Good call, that would definetly work out better than the normal SausageFest Saturdays around here...
How about some UNLIMITED beer offers for $5 per year  :D
Can I get unlimited pitchers too? :)
Knogle 02-20-2004, 09:53 AM I read this in the news a couple of days ago; have Movieoks'. Basically, people will act out scenes and play the role of the actor. Seems popular.
akashik 02-20-2004, 12:46 PM Pool Competitions usually pull a crowd at any bar.
