View Full Version : Have you heard these WHT voice overs?
SoftWareRevue 02-19-2004, 02:53 PM http://www.voicelance.com/wt.htm made some pretty cool stuff.
At least I think they are. But, I may be biased because of the subject matter. :)
I just had to share.

They are extremely good, especially the "unlimited resources" one ;)
As I said in the other thread about them, they are very well done.
Simon
Informity 02-19-2004, 03:14 PM I've heard them now ;)
The female one is pretty hilarious :D
TopHostSupport 02-19-2004, 05:41 PM It be great if there e-mail system works alot faster. I tried signing up and hours later still waiting on an e-mail confirmation.:bawling:
UH-Matt 02-19-2004, 06:04 PM Too cheesy.
KIA-Joe 02-19-2004, 07:12 PM In commercial 6 the guy says "Resailer" ... lol
-alb- 02-20-2004, 02:20 AM That one with the female voice boarders on false advertising :p
Aussie Bob 02-20-2004, 06:43 AM I think they're great. They add another dimension onto a site, and I could easily see something like that incorporated into the sales process. Great stuff. :)
Integral 02-20-2004, 06:50 AM hehehe! Well cheesy but I think that adds to the appeal of them :)
The second one reminds me of one of those interludes from Robocop 2 :stickout:
Knogle 02-20-2004, 06:59 AM It's definitely a unique idea with potential. Good job, VoiceLance! :)

My thoughts exactly
SoftWareRevue 02-20-2004, 09:20 AM Have any of you ever heard a commercial?
Aussie Bob 02-20-2004, 09:35 AM I think I'll use their service for some radio commercials I want to start running in the next little while. I think they sound rather swanky! :D
reanncw 02-20-2004, 09:48 AM Ok. We know whats Bob going to do next. Australian Based Radio. Aussie Bob singing in the shower! Woooo!

Yes... Good old British commercials!
heh, you beat me to it.
Stormhosts, Matt and i are all in the UK so perhaps we're just not used to that style of advertising so much, and it wouldn't be considered quite so cheesy for people in the US. If they are only going to be aired in the US then perhaps they will work, over here i don't think they would.
Tropical Tundra 02-20-2004, 10:39 AM The attempted sexed up one with the moaning in the background was something. Trying to sex up the hosting industry is a stretch! Unless your hosting porn! :D
The "urban" one was to stereotypical made me a bit uneasy but all and all they were pretty neat and a good idea.
JWise 02-20-2004, 02:41 PM Yea arpmn it is.. I just listened to it and it sounded kind of funny. Say say say Say What
but their cool

The format of that one was due to me actually. Karen asked me what the Target Range was.
 Uhhhhh.... I said maybe 20 to 30 year olds.
So with no script, and really no idea what the site was about, she produced it. This is VERY hard to do for a VO person.
I am having her do a business one for Voicelance.com It should be on the site this evening.
I told her about the cheesy by the way, and she agreed. She said she was just doing what I told her.
So FLAME Jim!
Trifolic 02-23-2004, 06:01 PM I'm supprised that yaxay.com didn't put thier voiceover in that flash banner yet..

Mabe they don't like it. We would gladly do another one if they ask.
========================================
This whole industry is weird, and I am hoping to change all of that.
Fact:
1. Voice Over Professionals ( 99.5% ) can only do a spot with the script in their hand. Can't do web!
2. If you had anyone of Voicelance.com commercials produced, the price would start around $250 - $300 Then you have to add FX which is more $$$
3. If you ask a VO Talent to do a web site, again 99.5% would tell you Uhhhh..... OK. I need a script and several days.
The list goes on.....
In other words, this stuff aint cheap!

If it's so hard, how come they make it sound go easy? :)

GOOD QUESTION! They have been doing it for years.
I tried picking up a mic, but all of the cats in the neighborhood ran away. Dogs died.....
