I am getting my mom a new computer, she currently uses a p3 800 mhz, 128 megs of ram, etc. Where can I get the best pre-built computer under $900, not including the monitor, but including Office Xp with Powerpoint and Xp Professional. I was thinking about Dell, but they seem really expensive.

I dont know where you are located but if you are in Canada...like in the GTA area I would recommend Computer Time....quality and economical ;)

I have a custom supplier that builds PC's for me. I, myself have bought 2 PC's off him and he has built PC's for 3 of my friends and all are happy. His prices are great and if something breaks, he'll replace it free of charge.

If interested, let me know. Oh and if you're wondering, no I don't make anything off it. I'm just promoting a good service :)

I recommend Dell as well.

However, the machine won't be as expensive as the MS Office. MS Office is like $399-$699.

Check NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com) and Atomic Park (http://www.atomicpark.com) for software.

Student / Teacher Edition is a different story. For personal or commerical usage, the cost is $435.
