continue to crack my head and continue to think of a domain name for my new site or should i make do with domain names (with hyphens) ?

Whats the pros and cons about having domain name with hyphens?

Will it devalue the domain name?

peopl are basically lazy and forgetfull
they are too lazy to type hypens
and too forgettful to remember them

so you *will* lose a lot of traffic to the unhyphenated name if you go for
abc-widgets and abcwidgets already exists

does it devalue the name ? IMHO definately

I agree (even though my domain has a hyphen in it). Think long and hard of a domain name that is easy to remember without hyphens or numbers.

If your domain contains 2 strong related keywords, it won't be bad necessarily, e.g. Buy-Flowers.com

If you plan to advertise on the radio, it's a bad idea.

no hypens.. definately... and as timechange said; if you want people would be able to talk about, hypens no good..

unless it's a great domain name..

I have registered the name of my site twice : once with a hyphen and once without it. For only a few bucks per domain you cannot lose that much if you do that. Just register yoursite.com and your-site.com and then you're not only sure that people will find your site, you're also sure there won't be some other site using your-site.com (which could bring confusion)

If you really want to chose : without hyphen is usually better, unless your name is a bit long to read. thisisthenameofmyoneandonlywebsite.com doesn't look good, if your name consists of more than three words, I'd go for a hyphen personally. Also, if you have the choice between my-site.com or mysite.cc or something, I'd go for my-site.com because people will always remember .com first
