Hello,
I am about to purchase a used Cisco Catalyst 2924 XL EN 10/100 Switch on eBay.
Does anyone have any suggestion on testing the switch, since it is used?
I am planning to have it running for 7 days straight.
Is there anything I should be aware of or make sure?

make sure you connect to all ports and test the connectivity. See if any of the port lights is dead first of all.
Also, ask if it still has warranty ..

Hello,
I just got a used Cisco Catalyst 2924 XL EN 10/100 Switch.
Can you tell me if this is normal?
1. I turned it on, all 24 ports lighted green.
2. After a minutes, ports 1 turned light orange, port 2 turned bright orange, and 22 ports remained green.
3. I turned off the switch and turned it back on.
4. All 24 ports lighted green.
5. After a minutes, all 24 ports don't have light.
Is this normal or is there anything wrong with the switch?
Well according to Cisco the lights being off mean that nothing is connected to the port.

When you first turn it on, it runs through diagnostics...
They should light up and start at one color, then change one by one to another all away accross. (Don't remember which color to which color)
At the end, with nothing plugged into it, all port lights should be off.

What is the meaning of green light?
What is the meaning of orange light?
Asia,
I'm going to recommend you go to Cisco's web site. You'll find complete documentation on your switch there. Which will give you lots of information.
