Maybe $1050/Mbps ?

Still, that's a large number.

That is an uncommitted bandwidth charge per Mb, if you commit to bandwidth then the prices are above. To tell you the truth we never actually charge people that price even if they do go over. We always let you know if you are going to go over your data transfer per month.

Uncommitted bandwidth is always more than committed.

But then again you are bringing up co-location charges and this posting is about dedicated servers.

Well, as a potential customer, I go on your site and find that information, I get nervous. If you put that on your site, then other people like me, may think....what the and then not want to go with your company because of riduculous costs.

Just giving you a heads up!

Jim

Thanks Jimb... I will pass on the info to the decision makers. I think they need to lower that price too. I just think that price got lost in the shuffle since we have been pushing out dedicated servers so much lately.

With the current status of most businesses (Internet and .com in general), there is no frigging way I am going to sign a 12 month contract with anyone even it means saving some money. You just don't know what you are getting into. Anything beyond 3 months is ridiculous.

We have some dedicated servers without a contract plus we have shared servers with no contract either. If you are willing to pay more a month then we can surely get you a server without a contract and a higher monthly fee or just maybe a set up fee.

The reason why a contract is needed is because our investors are buying the servers and they require a contract. We have been around since 1993 and are building out a third data center and are growing everyday.

Yes, nowadays you dont know where a company is going to be in 3 months in this industry. The reason why we have made it is because we didnt go the VC route and build out more than needed and "hope" the business came. We just grew as needed. If Exodus can go bankrupt then it is safe to say anyone can.

We are rolling out a new shared server option, don't know the exact specs but it could be something like this: 20GB of space and 40GB of monthly data transfer for $100 a month, with no contract and no set up fee. This new option will be coming out shortly. Don't mark my words on this, they havent made it definite yet. This option is like having your own dedicated server (almost). If interested send us an email at sales@ezzi.net

When I said that I was including myself also in that, I am not exactly raking in so to say and I am not going to pay for 12 months. Besides, I do not trust anyone (may be for a couple of monts). I mean, it is really hard to sign-up with anyone for that long. I might save some money but I might also lose. Yeah, a few bucks a month extra for a quarterly contract is better.

That shared option also sounds good. I am on a shared server now (shared by a lot of people) and am looking for other options such as virtual/private servers with less than 10 accounts or a dedicated. Not reseller but for a business site but if I end up getting a dedicated then would resell some accounts.

Do you know how many accounts per server on those shared servers?

I totally understand where you are coming from. Whatever you need, shared or dedicated, we have with no contract. Contact us when you have time and find out what options we have that fits your needs.

whats the difference between these 2:

The difference is this:

Utman,

The first part you wrote is exactly what was posted in the first post.

Extra Bandwidth:
$50 a month – 20GB monthly data transfer
$100 a month – 40GB monthly data transfer
$200 a month – 80GB monthly data transfer
$400 a month – 160GB monthly data transfer
$700 a month – 320GB monthly data transfer

The second part of what you are asking is this:

Extra Bandwidth:
$700/Mb - 1 - 5Mb monthly data transfer
$600/Mb - 6 - 10Mb monthly data transfer
$500/Mb - 11 - 50Mb monthly data transfer
$400/Mb - 50Mb+ monthly data transfer

Basically the first part is data transfer up to 1Mb (320GB) and the second part is data transfer over 1Mb, per Mb.

Hope this helps.

You may want to change Mb to Mbps and change monthly data transfer to bandwidth to clarify it, otherwise it sounds like you really hate your customers ;)

AMD spell it "Athlon" - and Intel do have P3 1.33’s so the second part of your statement could be disputed. Better performing/Better benchmarks yes .. faster - hmmm. :)

Star69... Looks like great minds think alike.

Wolfy... Thanks for the heads up on Athlon... The processor is faster because of the FSB. Yes P3 makes a faster MHz but the FSB is still 133MHZ on the P3 and the Athlon is 266MHz. That is what makes it faster.

In this case, I doubt it's "think alike" - I think it's "lets hope know one notices"
