I've been looking the last few days for new web hosts. I did some search on this forum about these hosts and found some good and bad about a few of them. But some were never mentioned.
The hosts i'm talking about are:
CWI Hosting (www.cwihosting.com)
Interworks Hosting (www.interworks-online.com)
Interserver (www.interserver.net)
Dreamlink (www.dreamlink.net)
DownTownHost (www.downtownhost.com)
PalmVersa (www.palmversa.com)
Personally it seems like the DownTownHost and PalmVersa are looking the best at this state. So if you've had any expirence of these please leave your thoughts.
Thanks in advance,
Regards Toby

DowntownHost and Palmversa are both frequent posters at this board, I recommend both of them ;)

My company designed the PalmVersa site in exchange for a hosting account, but I haven't actually tested it (we are planning to sell it). However I haven't noticed any downtime of their site, and the staff is very friendly (based on conversations while designing their site)
I've had a hosting account with DTH for quite some time now and I definatley recommend them, Jorge is probably the friendliest and most helpful host you'll ever talk to.
Good luck in your search ;)

I looked at palmversa..... Looked good, but I would be worried about that cpanel.
Are you saying to avoid cpanel hosts?
Cpanel has it's problems, but it's nothing that can't be fixed.
I don't think that there should be any big problem with Cpanel. It's a nice and popular Control Panel among the industry.
For my needs PalmaVerse and DownTownHost had the best features which includes the CPanel. And personally I prefer those, gives me a better view of what's going on the server and are pretty easy to use.
But as anything else, there's always good and bad. I don't know why I should worry (or avoid) CPanels. About the past 5 years I've been running domains, there was always a CPanel and I believe that's when they started with those as well.
Support and fast connections is a must when it comes to web hosts as well and PalmVerse was impressing when they responded my e-mails within 2 hours. On the other hand, they are a smaller company and therefore support is better.

Toby, sorry for this stupid question :)
Does you send us an email?
If so, we don't get it.
Can you please send it again to jorgec@downtownhost.com ?
Yes, I sent it yesterday. But I just got an e-mail from the sales department so it looks like you found it anyway :)
If you still want me to resend it, if there was any problems between you and the sales department I can do that. But i'm guessing it was you that replied it.
