About two years ago, I was using a company called GXhosting to host one of my sites. I was wondering who here had their sites hosted through GXhosting. hehehe! I am sure that if you did, you will remember them very well to say the least.

Man, that was a long time ago! I was with them for about 1 month then I was able to get out.

I was just thinking back to that time. It's a memorable one as it's the only time that I ever saw so much activity in the Hostsearch.com forums from all of the complaints about GXhosting.com. I felt pretty stupid for falling for it, but it was a relief to see that plenty of decent people got sucked into it. I believe it helped Hostrocket out quite a bit as many of the former GX'ers moved there. What can I say, it was one of most memorable times as a webmaster.

I had a site hosted with GXHosting for about 6 months. Service was great, speed was great, but they suddenly disappeared. Luckily, I had stopped hosting with them a few months before that happened.

LOL. I heard later they were run by 2 high school kids.

When I first signed up with GXhosting, they were quite fast. The service began slipping down hill as they became overwhelmed with clients. It got to the point when trouble tickets were never answered. I was surprised myself when I learned that they were just a couple of highschool kids. There was a USA Today article about it. In all reality, it would have been a success story if they could have kept up with the influx of cliental rather than ignoring many.

I can remember calling Alabanza (GX hosting was reselling their service) because I could not get any support from GX. Alabanza told me that GX was their fastest growing client and that they were getting all kinds of complaints from GX customers. To be the fastest growing client of Alabanza meant that GX was moving some considerable volume.

Indeed. And from what I've heard, they were making quite a few $$$. They should have reinvested that money in an office and employees. That way they could have indeed been a great success.

I feel almost sad thinking about the great opportunity these kids messed up (I feel even more sorry for their clients, don't get me wrong).
