Hi,

I have a question for you guys. I am wanting to set up processor limits for one of the sites on my servers. Just so you know, I use webmin to manage my server. It gives me fields to enter numbers associated with the following.

Memory resource limit
CPU resource limit
Process limit

What kind of numbers am I supposed to enter. For instance, for memory resource limit, is this ram that it is asking about, and if so do I just type in 10000000 for 10 megs of ram, or would I say enter 0.10 to alocate 10% of my memory.

Also, CPU resources is that just given as a percent i.e. 0.1 for 10%.

I am assuming that process limit is just the number of processes allowed.

If someone would give me typical values to enter for each of these fields it would be greatly appreciated. I had left everything blank in the past, but recently I had a bad script take down my server and I am hoping to keep it from hapening again.

Thanks

Hi Regier,

hmmm. It all depends on what Webmin expects for these values. Did you try checking out the Webmin help files, or go to their website. Each Control Panel is different and like I said, it depends on what format Webmin expects.

Check out:

http://webmin.com/webmin/

and search through the FAQs and docs.

Sorry I con't have a concrete answer for ya!

Here you go:

http://www.calderasystems.com/edesktop/usersguide/ch10.html

There's an excellent manual there that explains all you need to know for webmin, and has great screen shots too.

tabernack,

Thanks for the link. That is quite the page. I bookmarked it for future reference. It didn't seem to list help in the area that I needed though. I think I will just spend some time at apache website and see what they have to say.

Thanks again.
