This evening I posted my dissatisfation about a UK hosting service called Nicnames at www.nicnames.co.uk and think I'll be hauled up in court and cut off.

This was the post on a UK forum development site, www.magicmushroom.org.uk/forum, as well as here.

If my site goes down can you guys stir the ether a bit?

This was my post:
=============================================

My hosting service uses Linux and NT. As the NT server is constantly incurring downtime, I am seriously considering a move to a new host or different platform.

I've paid upfront for a year's worth of NT plus SSL and despite my complaints/reporting about their poor service, I get zero response. Autoresponders with a query ticket does not cut it with me.

Mails to Nicnames's MD have not even been acknowledged.

By way of example, this morning (and several other times) after LINX's problems yesterday, I had to phone Nicnames to remind them that the NT server was still issueing a DNS error and to please switch me on!!!!

Is this not a sad indictment of hosting service in UK?
=============================================

Yeah well, you experienced guys might think it's nothing, but here in UK - well it's a matter of not having as many hosting services as you have in USA.

Your support will be gratefully received.

See y'all later (I hope)

If you spoke the truth is it not libel. Truth is always a valid defense to any allegations of libel. Libel is by definition "any false or malicious statement." I don't see malice in your statement, can't speak to the truth.

And if your host threatens to sue for libel over voicing a legitimate complaint, I would start looking for a new host.

Most likely though this was an empty threat to scare you from posting additional complaints.
Make sure, however, that you keep every e-mail then send you. And document every attempt you make to contact them that gets no response.
