I'm a developer and need to refer clients to host companies. I am looking for a reliable host company with a good reseller program. Particularly, I am interested in a program where the host company bills the person I refer and I receive a monthly %. I am not interested in any of these programs where I become the client in essence and am billed by the hosting company and have to manage the billing for the clients I bring to them. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Actually sounds like you need a good affiliate...or referral program.

you can have a look at smarthosting.com however, I have no idea how reliable they are....another problem with the referral programs is that they want you to put a banner on your site, and refer customers that way...
What kind of monthly % were you aiming at....

I think they are a good hosting company maybe, but not a good referral program they are running.
They didn't record your personal details like your name and address, how should affiliates suppose to receive their commissions ?? .... and .... no any welcome email after application .... i'm doubt about it .... :o
My advice ....
Join the advertising agents like CJ, LinkShare, ClickXchange .... you will find lots of hosting company which offer affiliate program their.
I am a affiliate of 55 hosts, if anyone know / find a host that offer an affiliate program but not listed on my site, please tell me.
