I'm doing some fraud screening and noticed that this persons ip address traced to Virginia even though the CC was from Florida. Normally I would cancel the order immediatly, but I thought I remembered that AOL was located in VA and knowing how weird their dialup system is, I was wondering if all of the IP's they own trace back to the same place and then they assign different ip's from there? Or is this person really in VA.
Any help would be apreciated.

Unfortunately for us that need to verify credit card information, all AOL IPs trace to Virginia regardless of the actual location of the person using AOL.

We have done testing on this IP tracing before.....
All DialUp and DSL users are pointed to a proxy in VA and then it splits from there...

Hi,
Can you explain how you do IP tracing. Thanks.

I use Visual Route to trace where they are located.

I have heard of others having this same problem. I'm just keeping it simple at this point for my hosting business by using a third party processing company.
