I was looking at goto.com and thinking about paying them to list my site do you guys think it's worth it? They say now that they use AOL and some others im not sure what they mean buy that. I see some sites listed that don't have Cost to advertiser listed to the side why is that? I thought if someone buys $100 worth of clicks and after that they get taken out?

With google i submited my site to them about 3 weeks ago and didn't get in how long should i wait before i try again? I dont want them to think im spaming them :)

Whats the right way to see if your site is listed in a seach engine? I always just search for mysite.com to see if im in or not.

thanks for the help

Hi,

About Goto.com - you might like to have a little look at this thread : http://www.webhostlink.com/showthread.php?threadid=2274

About Google - most directories take up to 4-8 weeks to fully evaluate a site before deciding to add or reject it. I suggest you keep waiting, and if still unsuccessful.... You just might have to wait a few months.... :bawling:

Follow the thread BC mentioned. I was picked up by Google in about a month. Now they regularly spider my pages. Patience is a virtue. . .

Two other links you may wish to check, and may help put things into perspective, are:

Web102, search engines that charge for placement are the exception, rather than the rule. While those with paid listings might like the idea, I think charging can work against the whole premise. Many people simply don't trust listings returned on the basis of payment.
