We just transfered our site to
www.phastnet.com and I wanted to recommend them to anyone looking for an affordable unix shared hosting platform.
Tech support was outstanding - above and beyond the norm.
We also have enjoyed a faster load time with them.
Just an FYI for those, like me, who have not had much luck with hosting companies.

And when did you start working for them?

I dunno about that but I like their site design :)

There is a lot of negative discourse about hosts, surely someone might want to say something nice, I know I spoke well of a host I went with after receiving poor service from 3 previous to that one :)

Some of the prices are a bit eek though.

We have only been with them for 2 months.
After trying 3 of the top 5 hosts at tophosts.com and also hostindex.com with less than stellar website performance and speed,
we took a shot in the dark with this company and have been very pleased. The speed is better than all the others we have tried. I have had to contact tech support for help in configuring our cart and always recieved prompt replies.
They really have impressed me quite a bit.
Granted, they are a small company, but what they lack in staff, they make up for in service :)

2. Why did you choose to post a glowing review for them your very first post here?

I'm not saying that you're up to something - but it looks suspicious and we've seen hosts post "reviews" about themselves here before...and generally it's the first post that tips you off. :)

I really just wanted people to know about these guys.
It was such a relief to have someone willing and able to help me out when needed. Most of the tech support I have received in the past has been either "we do not provide support for third party scripts" or "we'll get back to you on that".

Yes that is meant to be a reason for being here as far as I know.

I think people are a little suss right now, there have been a few horror stories and chancers lately and folks are just wary.

I am just so happy to have a hosting company that provided what it said for a change.

I had a rotten time with every single host I ever had from day one until I signed up with VenturesOnline, it was looking for good advice about hosting and a good host that led me here and to them.

Wow, what a domain! Yeah Tina, it is the point of the forum. Unfortunately, hosts before you have come here to shamelessly promote their company and the odds haven't been encouraging. I'd estimate that 95% of the posts similar to yours (Hey HostABC is great!), without URLs listed, first post, etc., end up being board spam. Sad, but it makes it hard on the 5% who aren't board spamming.

They are all barcode printers - it actually helps in the search engines.
