View Full Version : wget to move sites to RaQ?

I have a couple of active sites that I need to move to my RaQ, and since I am name-based hosting, I can't have the site owners ftp to my IP, so I need to get the sites moved for them before they change their NS (so that there is no down time).

Can I create the virtual site, telnet in and use wget from the /web directory to move everything from the existing site/domain to my server? Will this also move scripts, etc?

I guess as a side question, if someone uses FP to publish to my server IP, will it put the files in the right place for the user/pass combo, or does the domain itself have to be active?

Thanks,

So why can't they FTP the site to the new server??? Just use the IP address the customer is on instead of their domain name.

Actually you should be able to make new vsites/users on the new box and just use the main IP of the new box and the customer's login information.

as long as they use their username and password it shouldnt matter if they use their domain name or your IP address, they will only be able to FTP into their space
