Do you really think that people search on 300,000 search engines??

I think that most is about 10 engines .. 10 major engines is all you need...almost 90% of searches are done that way.. :))

You very right in fact i believe I saw a study somewhere where it said 99% of all search our done on the 10 major search engines.

Some search engines rank your site according to how many other sites link to your site. Google is a good example of a search engine that ranks your site based on popularity.
