View Full Version : $30 for best design/development domain suggestion contest
Southernman 02-12-2004, 05:28 AM I am looking for a highly brandable, catchy, easily remembered design/development domain name. Therefore, I am holding a contest to see if I can get some interest to help me find and/or suggest that perfect name!
For a unregistered domain that suits my fancy suggested in this contest... the one who suggest it first (decided by this forum's timestamp in case of a tie) will be sent $30 bucks once I have successfully registered the domain... GUARANTEED!
If you know of a domain that is for sell, that suits me and you steer me to it I will, once successfully bought and transfered to me pay that person a $10 finders fee.
What will the site target? ...well, Design and Development works of course.
Let's strap on those creative thinking caps and roll on!
Thanks for your efforts and time to help with this...
Hey, i've got a couple of ideas for design website (that is if I understand what you're saying here) which is that you're making a website for webdesign?
If so, here are some names I can come up with:

lookingnice.net
designsforyou.net
niceandcheap.com
Iwilldesign.net
0designs.com
nearsited.net
couldbefree.com
coldmaker.com
reallygoodsite.com
1quickdesigns.com
de-signs.net
dotdotdesign.net
designsforyou.net
I hope this helps. IF you need more suggestions, just let me know.
Gen-T 02-12-2004, 11:44 AM Southernman,

WannaBaHost 02-12-2004, 02:09 PM Brinkle.com Having thoughts of branding this one myself so the price will be in the $$$ range.

Did anybody win? OR was this a real contest at all?
Southernman 02-14-2004, 10:43 AM It is/was a real contest.
Not but one of the names suggested was close to what I wanted the domain to portray.
If you felt it wasted your time... sorry about that.
Next time you hold a contest and want something specific, let the people know exactly what you want. If you wanted something specific you should have said it, otherwise no one understands what you want.

The only other descriptives that may help give you a , clue would be "corporate and professional."
The specific's I [i]did give[/] say nothing about cheezy, two bit names!

PM me if you are interested!
Thanks! :)

You know what? First of all, obviously you are not a "corporate and professional" person. Otherwise you wouldn't be asking other people to come up with "cheezy, two bit names". And you know what? If you could do much better, why did you post a contest for other people to do your work for you? Are you just lazy?
Insulting my ideas is not a very professional thing to do by the way. Your descriptions of what you wanted miswell have been nothing. You did not specifically state what you wanted, you just hinted around on it. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that you used one of the names suggested here, especially after the way you responded. You seem to be the type of person who would do something like that. I'm not sure exactly why i'm even wasting my time here, I suppose I just love a good arguement.
Anywho, that's all, i'm done. I suggest that if you're going to act like this, you should find another forum.
Southernman 02-15-2004, 03:29 AM I don't know why your wasting your time either. I supose you need to vent at somebody.
When you buy this forum from inet, maybe then you could run it how you want... until then just get with the program!
Now, if you don't have any more domains to suggest, then stop trashing my thread. If you have personal issues (with me I mean) then take it to pm or email me.
Cheer up... it's not all that you think it is.
DDoodler 02-15-2004, 02:43 PM Have you found a domain yet?
Southernman 02-15-2004, 02:56 PM I have yet to think of or find a domain that I felt suitable for the project DDoodler. :/
To expand on the desired chacteristics:
* less than 8 characters are prefered
* netdevelop - devcorp - inetdev (examples)
Thanks for asking. :)
DDoodler 02-15-2004, 05:11 PM I know that both newzon.com and invega.com are being sold here at WHT... You could give those two a try...
Good luck!
Southernman 02-15-2004, 05:36 PM Yeah... I've been keeping a fairly close eye on the forum. When I take a break from my work... it's the second thing I do after checking my emails.
Thanks for the tip. :)

Thanks Gen-T I really like that first one you posted... debating on whether or not to buy it right now.
I've spent countless hours doing whois' and using nameboy, to the point it's become a rather hum-drum task.
I do appreciate your efforts! ;)
Gen-T 02-16-2004, 08:02 PM Glad to help Steve! :)
Are you talking about eProDev.com? It's also available in reverse....
eDevPro.com / eProDev.com -- to secure the brand both ways so nobody gets the other one.
Also a couple more to add to the list.....
DevWiz.com
DevStar.net
