Well... I quit! It wasn't bad enough that the creeps from Indonesia submitted over 30 fraudulent credit cards ( Yes, I did a tracert and did not process them ) but cardservice Int. has wiped out my merchant account... Try talking with them on the phone to resolve a problem... " yes, everything's OK now... bla bla bla", next thing you know, they grab all they can from your bank account... " OH... didn't you read the fine print?" Well, we know you've had your account for over 3 years, but we automatically renewed it, and you didn't follow the correct procedures".. faxes, emails, numerous phone calls don't count.
" You mean you think you don't owe this money... well, just because someone in our office said you are free and clear and will not be charged $350 for asking the cancellation procedure... well... we have several people here that just don't quite know what they're talking about..."
I also found out it wasn't just me, but several of my friends that also chose Cardservice that were zapped the same way!
All I can say is before you decide to go with cardservice Int for CC processing.... ask around first, and BE SURE TO READ ALL OF THE TINY PRINT!

I have used card service for 1.6 years, and though i have heard some interesting stories about there lack there of, i have had no problems with them

Also I was made very aware of the termination fee, when I signed up.

Overall they are very good in my book

We started with CSI in '99. I can not stand them!!! We are working on migrating over 2500 records from their periodic over to a custom solution with Verisign and Nova (Costco). This is a huge pain, but worth it. Here is a brief history -

1) They deleted ALL accounts from 10/00 and earlier. Completely lost our periodic records to run. That was a few hundred records. A threatening letter got them to manually spend a week inputting our records for us.
2) Removed all archives longer then four months old. That means we can no longer find transactions over four months ago.
3) Once again, deleted all records entered during a one month period. These we had to re-enter. About 100 records.
4) Went down completely for 24 hours. That means to transactions could not be done. Were down for 7 days straight with periodic billing. No cash flow for a week!
5) Chargeback's are $15.00 per. Plus 50% of the time they never tell us so we can dispute. They just take the money out. Understood most companies charge for this, however Nova doesn't.
6) Tech support people are idiots who always say "We'll get back to you" or "It will be fixed soon". They never have any other answers.

We are also a CSI hosting partner. We send them a few customers a month. Our customers complain of 'shady' practices too. We are looking at finding a new provider for our customers too.

JBIZ718, are you using LP HTML?

When we cancel, I will be sure to make sure we deny all access to our account from them. Thanks for the warning.

Actually nope, we have a terminal.

To get the lower rate, it works very well.

Our rate is as low as you can get for online transactions. We get to many to use terminal. We have 2.25%. However, Our Costco - Nova service will be 2.05%.

I want to modify my gripes about Cardservice. I originally signed up through Bigstep, which has offered excellent service and support. At the time, Bigstep was just getting started and did not offer International transactions ( They now do ) and periodic billing, so I started a seperate merchant account directly with Cardservice.
The staff at Bigstep was and is still excellent, and I have no gripes with them at all, as for my dealings with cardservice... they say they are now going to ruin my credit and try to sue me.
Even though they have told me that there would be no more charges and everything is fine now... I guess it's a lesson learned.
Too bad I had not found this forum years ago.
