I don't know about Onlinenic, but I do know that directi has no setup fees, not has no prepay limit to start selling domains. They have instant setup of your account and all you need to do is add whatever amount of funds to your account that you like and you're basically ready to sell domains. You can also brand your directi account to look as if it's your own domain register. And, you can setup infinite sub-resellers underneath you.

Directi has some unbeatable facilities, that Onlinenic has not. They are also comming with new API with out of the world features. You can see the features and announcement of new developments from http://forums.webhosting.info/f-32/

I still would stick for OnlineNIC, they have awesome prices and their API is good as well. The only thing with OnlineNIC is that you have to prepay which is not a problem for us :D

OnlineNIC's support is extremely poor.

Its not about price or which one is better but which one has services etc that fit in the best with your own business model.

I have had problems with Enom and Godaddy and won't use them anymore but accept that for many their system works well for them
