Just wondering... I have written them (http://acsdatanet.com) two e-mails in the past week or so, asking about their services etc.

No answer whatsoever... Has anyone been in contact with them lately? I know I could pick up the phone and try that way, but why waste money on long distance phone calls, if they don't even have time to answer mail from possible customers... Not like I was asking for one measly server :D

I had started to talk w/ ACSdatanet to order a server (ASAP) a week and a half ago, but after getting an initial price / server hammered out, didn't hear back until last night. I had been expecting to get a call back for my credit card info (as per the order form specified) but Clint said that he was waiting for my payment info! He included a link to a "secure" payment page, but I didn't feel very comfortable entering my information as it had an invalid certificate. So, I tried to call the 800 number from their contact page (http://www.acsdatanet.com/contact_us.php), but the 800 number was no longer in service, and no one was picking up at the 310 number. I called again a few and got a response, and made the order, so we'll see if everything's hunky dory I suppose.

I'm not too worried about tech support (beyond getting assigned IPs within a reasonable period of time) as I can handle my own box, but I'm more worried about dependability and getting in contact with a live person in a reasonable amount of time if there are any billing / administration problems, etc...

I'm hoping to hear from acsdatanet customers that are signed on already, from the earlier thread (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17635&highlight=acsdatanet).

Has customer service been good recently? Do you have better luck getting problems solved then we're having trying to make an order?

Well, I had to get 5 more IP's yesterday, and emailed support@acsdatanet.com to get them. I got email back inside of an hour with the new IP's. So far, so good.

I've been monitoring connection uptime and haven't had any big (or small) hiccups in quite some time now (over 2 months).

There was one server outage of about an hour (that was preceded with an email sent out a week ahead of the outage) to upgrade the electrical system. They had to take my box down and boot it back up.

I also had a problem with one of my IDE disks about a month ago. I emailed support@acsdatanet.com about the problem (with entries from my logfiles showing RedHat concerned about the problem) -- I got a reply back within an hour that 'thanks -- they'd look into it', and the problem disappeared inside of a day.

For cheap and reliable dedicated hosting, you still can't beat em.

Just F.Y.I. I checked on the whois after seeing the 310 area code posted above and I work just off Centinela Blvd. in Inglewood (though I have the month off - yea!). Not sure exactly where 1626 is, but I'd think it would be very close.

Chicken-
That's very interesting about the whois about acsdatanet. I was looking to get a server from them and I pulled up a whois (maybe a month or so ago), I saw acsdatanet was located off of Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles, because that is close to where I live. Now I see that they've moved to centinela, interesting, can anybody tell me why they moved, and have they noticied any speed differences from the move?

To tell you the truth, I don't have a bad "feeling" about doing business with acs datanet. I usually trust my feeling and that is the only reason why I e-mailed them the second time and why I posted the question here...

Anyway, I don't beleive it was the tone or the issues in my e-mail that caused such silence... I wrote similar e-mail to several other providers and all of them responded.

I won't give up for now and we'll see. But if they're not interested than... well :stickout
