Dear all,

Here are my story: I've sign up a hosting account with Featureprice.com at October 8. But there are a DNS error at their server and they don't even knows it. After I've found the DNS problem and send my request to asking them to fix it. It's the day of October 13. But no one give me a respond after one day later.
So, hopeless like me decision to find another place to host my site and asking them for the 30-day Money-Back Guarantee to refound my payment.

Then one day later(October 14), they were fixed the DNS problem, and told me that my money can't be refound because the problem is fixed. But I've move my site to somewhere else already, and I don't want to use their service anymore. Just want my money back, I don't even use their service for over one day......

My credit card company said they've paied them(Featureprice.com) already at October 12, so it's too late to stop the payment. I don't know how should I do to get my money back($US 203), can anyone help on this? Thanks.

Gary

Go and inform your bank who should help you out. Besides, whats the point of a company carrying a 30 day money back is they wont give you your money back!!! The will just incur a chargeback and you should get your money back.

I've asking help to my bank. But they said there are nothing they can help, because the payment is paied out already.

And the sales from Featureprice.com said can't refound my payment, because my account is working now.....

Just want my money back, I don't know whatelse I can do to get it back......~~>_<~~

Tell the company that is issuing you the CC to request a chargeback. Tell them that they did not give you services that are up to the standards.

Thanks Windowshost and Ericwenlong. I'll try again to phone my CC bank at tomorrow morning. Even though they said can't help on this at early today.(I'm outside of US, probably this is the reason that they don't wanna help.) But anyway, I need to give it a try. Thanks again for your kindly help.

Look on your credit card bill ... there should be something in the fine print regarding billing errors + disputes with an address. Send a letter to your credit card company explaining what happened and that you dispute the charge....
you card company is required by law to investigate as long as you send the letter within a certain number of days for it first appearing on your card statement (I believe it is withing 60 days from the statement date)

also, you must mail your dispute to your c card company, talking to them over the phone doesn't really mean anything

I believe if you have a good reason, then you can let your Credit Card dispute the charges. Fight back Gary! Don't let them take your money just like that! Phone, write and e-mail your Credit Card company. They MUST help you!

Remind that Company they have a 30 day money BACK guarentee. Explain you not satisfied.

This may go without saying, but let the hosting company know that you are cancelling your account and that you want them to honor their 30 day money back guarentee. But definetly make sure they know you are cancelling your account or they may keep charging you. If they don't give you satisfaction do a charge back.

Also, if they will still not honor their 30 day guarentee, make sure you let the Better Business Bureau in their state/city know that they did not honor it.

I looked them up at the BBB, it says that they are still gathering information on the company. Not sure what that means. Here is the link:

Good Luck

Just my little comment on this. I have done a few chargebacks myself, and working for a big company that takes CC payments, I have dealt with them.

Call your CC company, and tell them that you want a chargeback. I have had to send recipts to them sometimes, but I have NEVER had a problem. The CC companies almost always favor the consumer, so you really shouldnt have a problem. Just be sure to use the word chargeback.

Just my 2 cents.

I used to work for FirstUSA. Whenever we got a customer dispute in regard to fraud charges, we would issue a merchant chargeback. In most cases, when we did chargebacks, we were getting many customers calling in about the same merchant since the merchants generally try to shaft a whole lot of customers at once.

Thanks all. I finally got the help from my cc bank. They'll help me in the chargeback. When I told them that I wanna chargeback, then everything seems going easily. Just need to fill out some application forms and waiting for the result. Again, thanks all of your kindly help.

Also, make sure you let the hosting company know you're doing a chargeback - before you actually do it. Often this will motivate a company to honor their gaurantee...as they will have to pay penalty fees if they get a valid chargeback.

Is it possible to get a refund if there is no 30 day guarantee? I signed up for a year with Burlee, moved to another server and then basically forgot about my account until they charged my credit card for $155.40 again this Oct. Burlee says that according to their terms of service it's nonrefundable(!)

Well, if you never cancelled service with them, then it is questionable whether they *have* to refund you. Personally, I don't feel it is an exceptional business practice to charge people who don't want to use your services, unless there is a damn good reason. If you email them and attempt to explain it (which I assume you did), try calling your credit card co. and seeing what they say.

Give them a call and explain. good firms want to stay in good standings with all consumers.

Burlee said "by submitting your credit card online you are agreeing to a contract and renewals of the contract."

I called my credit card company and basically they can't do anything unless I have a record of a charge after I cancelled. Blah. I feel so stupid for not realizing that submitting a card once meant auto-renewal. :(
