Before i formatted a few years ago, when going to start, programs, there were 135 programs to choose from. Also, i ran out of room for icons in my 1024X760 Resolution. I was messy! Its so easy to download programs on a cable modem :)

Come on everyone, post your screenshot! You go up to the "Print Screen" key beside the f12 key, and paste it into your favorite picture editor program.... not that hard ;)

Your desktop is whack. Follow your Fishie? He knows where to go?

Even more whack - I just checked out Imbri and it's based out of Rapid City, SD! I'm out of Sioux Falls, SD. It's a good 5 hour drive but there's not really much between there and here.

Anway, small world.

Dual monitors anybody? (73kb)

I wish the Windows taskbar would stretch across both screens though...

Ok, let me try this again. Hey, I get credit for two posts for the work of one.

JustinK

uhhh... what kind of monitor do you have? Are those editpad icons I see? :D

getweb
10-15-2001, 12:13 AM
I have two Compaq S710's (plain old 17 inch monitors). A screenshot in windows grabs both screens as one logical desktop.

Of course it's EditPad! I'm a fan since early Editpad "classic". We should start a new thread, "how many files do you have open in Editpad?" I have 9. I use it for a scratchpad, clipboard buffers, to-do lists, compiler directives, php 'n asp coding.... :-) you can't see it, but I've got Trillian going too. Lets me do all the major chat engines at once (MSN, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, IRC). Perfect for support, eh?

and of course the 'other' desktop... much nicer to use.. soothing in fact compared to Alice. :D

... and Linux of course!

i have lots of icons on my desktop. actually they covers my wallpaper but on this clip i have moved them all to bottom so that you guys can see my desktop.

my desktop is very messsy :D

JustinK

I'm re-organizing my desktop (both computer & actual). I can't stand a ton of icons all over. It makes it rather pointless to have perty wallpaper if you can't see it. :)

I tend to agree. I leave a lot of programs in the start menu - It's usually only the very commonly used ones that make it to the desktop. I saw Deb's desktop and it made my left eye bulge just trying to imagine using it  < impending brain explosion

Generally having to do through the motion of the start menu gives me time to regroup when everything is running a mile a minute - a lesson learnt from the good old days as a bartender. In a middle of rush hour it was always good to stop everything - count to three then start at the start, and work through everything that needed to be done, one at a time.

On My Tornado 3K the taskbar goes accross the screen, on the new GVX420 it doesn't (didn't do in the GVX210 neither)

here is my screen :)

I take a different approach. No icons on the desktop, just extra toolbars and menus that are always on top. This was they're always right in view.

Nick, it's a new computer (i think they all come with it preinstalled, at least i dont think its out for everyone until the 15th).. i actually tried getting rid of it and it screwed everything up.. formatted 3 times lol and it still wouldn't go away.. until i found some sneaky partition that had everything stored on it.. but by then i just restored everything and said.. what the hell, i'll stick with it. got this one while i was waiting for my old one to come out of the shop.. now that i got two, 'you know who' is trying to snatch this one away from me.

Here's a pic of mine cleaned up. Between 6 computers and 5 desks, this is the only one with dual monitors. My taskbar doesnt go all the way across either, but oh well. Here's a knowledge test for you to see who actuallu studies up....can anyone name what books are showing on my desk? Those who do their studies should easily know them just by their colors :D
