We frequently get requests for Warez and Adult hosting. Does any one know of hosts that provide this type of service? Dedicated or Shared? I would like to be able to refer people to the proper host instead of just saying sorry it's against our policy. Of coure, if I'm going to recommend a host, I would like to know that the person that I'm refering is going to be taken care of and not taken advantage of. You can e-mail me or post here with your favorite host. TIA

VDI allows this, but I'm not sure of the exact policies for each host there. Some have alternative sites for adult content.

As for warez hosting, ummm... doubt you're gonna find too many that offer that. I think there is one, but as far as being sure they are taken care of and not taken advantage of... they are are looking to provide illegal content. They'll get whatever is available and if they get taken advantage of, who cares?

True True. The last request was just links to warez and not the content its self. But in the end it's all the same.

You should make difference between adult hosting and warez hoting. While adult sites are legal in many countries, and web hosts limit adult sites because adult sites are bandwidth hungry. Warez sites are ilegal in most coutries.

Not to get into it too deeply, but I belive that even having a warez links site with direct links to illegal material is still against the law (sure this depends on the country the server is located, but...). Yes Chicken, this is what I told the guy asking about a warez links site to host on me (he sent me an email too ODE :)

Basically the law that clinton passed in short says if you even link to warez you are considered to be aiding in copyright violations. This new law does not limit the extent which it can be used to JUST the site, if a court could prove the webhost knew about the site and did not take action the webhost could also be liable for damages including the site.

We had a client whose site became more and more adult over the years until we could no longer host it. Since he'd been a client for four years, we worked to help him find a new host. He ended up going with http://acceleratedweb.com, and he reports being very happy there.
