I have seen some companies modify the control panel offered by Alabanza, adding and changing buttons. how is this done?

If you know that, can you tell me how to change text on pages in the CP, like the SSH page saying to fax information?

Thanks
Andrew Scott

Until an Alabanza host replies... go into any control panel and check what any of the icons is named. Then telnet in and 'locate cpicon.gif' which will tell you where it is. Rename it, and upload a replacement.

From Greg's post at hostcoalition.org:

"It's on that page (options group).....the 2nd heading on that page should be "Custom Tools"....which is below "System Tools" and above "Resource Option" headings.

Right below the "Custom Tools" heading is text:

"Adding custom tools is only available to dedop.
Click here to add a new custom tool." "

Other text is controlled using the System Configuration option (under DSM administration).

I have seen "DSM" being used a few times in the forum. What does that stand for?

thanks

DSM = Domain System Manager

or something like that, =)

Thanks blanket ...

sooo why is that different than a cp - control panel ... I would think that the DMS is part of the cp

The "DSM" is an administrative control panel, which helps manage the domains and other important system functions. The control panel is what users see when they want to administer their account.

So the Albanza control panel is made up of the DSM and other modules? ie billing etc. is this correct?

thanks

The DSM is separate from the control panel. Whoever leases the server gets to use the DSM functions, and clients of theirs get to use whatever options the host decides to put on the cp. They are two completely different things, although I have seen Alabanza-based hosts calling the user cp a DSM.

Basically there are 2 control panels, one they call the DSM and is actually the control panel for your servers, the other they call the Control Panel and is a control panel for an account on the server for the end users.

They are both control panels, but one is for the server and one is for accounts on the server.
