I am running my hosting from Minnesota. What sales tax and/or other tax(es) must I charge? Who needs to be charged them, specifically? Is there a place I can read about this? I am a single person "DBA", i suppose, as **** web hosting. No "sole propritorship" has been setup and i don't plan to do so soon. Am I exempt from these taxes? Is anything?

thanks for your help!

You should call the Dept Of Revenue for your state. Or, you can look in the yellow pages for local offices where you visit.

I believe Webhosting (Virtual) and web designing is not taxable in MN. Check the Dept of Revenue website and check the section that says "obtain a taxation number".

Here you go..

Well I just spent a half an hour on the web site, and couldn't find the section you are talking about.

On that page,
You don't need a # if:
--You are a sole proprietor who does not make any taxable sales and you do not have employees from whose checks you will be withholding state income tax.

--If you are a Limited Liability Company with only one member, will file only individual income tax at the end of the year, you do not have employees, and do not make any taxable retail sales.

and check http://www.taxes.state.mn.us/salestax/factshts/salestax.html
where it talks about computers..
