I am looking for a content management system similar to but not as complex at Ez Publish - http://demo.ezpublish.no/news

I am looking to a template-based news system that makes the site feel similar to reading an online newspaper or magazine.

Any ideas?

I've checked hotscripts and have not found anything.

WebGUI by plainblack is an interesting CMS if you have mod_perl. They've got a free demo setup at http://www.plainblack.com/webgui

I wrote my own, but that may not be an option for you.

If you can't write your own, you could always request someone write it for you btw.

I don't see what is so complex about ezpublish - but maybe there's a lot of things going on in the background I don't know.

It's probably overkill for you, but there's always AtThat, PostNuke or PHP-Nuke - you could install it, skin it, and then remove all the fluff you don't need.

Besides that there's addons for forums like vBulletin and PHPBB that create a general news frontend as well as for blogs like Moveable Type.

I know there is Mambo OpenSource :D
