Does anyone know if it would be a problem to install this (or any) http://webcp.can-host.com/ 3rd party Control Panel on a cobalt RaQ?

I do not use the Cobalt RaQ, so don't hold me to this, but it SEEMS that from what I know about the Raq that the Web.CP would work just fine. Basically a RaQ is just a Linux box with some added bells and whistles.

However, I haven't tried this myself, so I cannot say for certain.

Hehe isn't the Raq's CP the thing that makes a Raq, a Raq? Without that they're pretty much just an average box, with a pretty front plate :D Unless you already have a Raq and you don't like it, hmm, I always thought the interface was nice?

I guess it could work but it would probably not be compatible with the existing Control Panel ( that is sites and users would probably not come up in it ), and such a modification would risk your Cobalt warranty.

Well telling the truth, the control panel is a joke. Functional yes, but does not look very good. Also you cant skin it or make modifications to it. No extra stuff ( which most hosts can offer as standard today - like file manager, integrated MySQL manager ).

The only reason I got a RAQ was the price.

I guess I'll have to try it and hope for the best. I'm also using a Cobalt server because it was cheap.

Although it is compatible (if you compile php without libmcrypt on a Raq3), I do not recommend installing it on a raq right now.

1- In order to work well, I will need to build a system converter to switch your cobalts accounts over to a web.cp system

2- The cobalt GUI would need to be disabled because both file structure is not the same.

However, I want to have this read as version 1.0 appears.

We've put http://autosetup.northwesthost.com on one of our RaQs, and it's a godsend. Took a few minutes to add the first 20 or so domains we used it for.

webcp on a RaQ? Now *that* would be interesting. We're checking it out on a linux box at the moment...but if it goes up on a RaQ can you make sure you announce it loudly Felix :-).

Regards

Gary

Hmm. Alright thank you. I hear good things about Plesk, except the interface. Any comments on that?
