View Full Version : Jumpline is Spamming...Unbelievable
Coran 10-10-2001, 11:12 PM Well, to say the least I am surprised.
My mailbox is now full of responses to the Jumpline "winback" to our autoresponders.
Anybody else getting these?
Coran 10-10-2001, 11:18 PM What a magnificent F**k Up,
We are a very distant ex-customer and we are getting inundated with spam from Jumpline.
Never thought I would see the day.
Then again, never thought I'd see planes delibrately crashed in to the WTC.
It's too bad, Jumpline used to be a real class act.
Coran 10-10-2001, 11:22 PM Well, they are certainly sending me new leads. Every two minutes.
These people are pissed.....
Thanks, Jumpline
Coran 10-10-2001, 11:24 PM This is unbelievable....
They are sending me a list of their ex customers....
The emails are still comng in....
Coran 10-10-2001, 11:35 PM This is just too much fun....
Have to share one response to the spam. Here it is:
PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO ALL WHEN ANSWERING JASON'S EMAIL.
He mistakenly put a mailing list of many Jumpline customers in his TO field instead of the BCC field.

Jason,
Well, I for one enjoy the quality of service and support I get from Jumpline
and have no intentions of leaving. Please keep up the good work so I may
continue to generate additional accounts through your reseller program.
Thanks for everything.

Coran 10-10-2001, 11:36 PM Ok, I'm done. Going to bed b4 evil thoughts of email address abuse set in....
Coran 10-10-2001, 11:55 PM All right, One more...
Just got this gem:
I just called technical support at Jumpline to tell them about the email issue with 'winback@jumpline.com.' The guy that answered assured me that the problem was taken care of.
Apparantly not.
What a bunch of idiots.

Annette 10-11-2001, 02:37 AM It could be worse. At least that kind of thing you can filter directly to the trash. The ValueWeb and Register.com snail mail junk we get is killing trees left and right.
MsRoxie 10-11-2001, 03:52 AM Yes, I get snail mail from these guys too.
Coran 10-11-2001, 09:33 AM Yeah, I suppose you are right. Guess we need to start spamming too :D
bluebeard 10-11-2001, 03:47 PM No don't do it, "spamming bad, class act good"
I found if you do it right and honest you can't go wrong!
skylab 10-21-2001, 12:50 PM i am a long gone ex customer. i was very impressed with them at first, but damn, i work from home, and had their server angel constantly open, and damn if the server i was stuck on(1800) wasn't down at least an hour a day. sometime for a whole day at a time. i almost had free hosting everymonth from my calling and requesting credits...
i'm long gone from there. thankfully..
almex 03-12-2002, 05:28 PM I wasn’t aware of this Jumpline fiasco (email spamming) until I did a search here. How does such an incompetent company stay in business with one major fiasco after another (most recently their upgrade fiasco)? I’m biting my tongue to keep from stating exactly what I think of Jumpline. Maybe if they’d change their name to more accurately reflect the hosting services they provide, I’d feel better about them – something like Junkline.com would do it.

Chicken 03-12-2002, 08:57 PM There already at least two other jumpline threads. I thin kthis one needs to stay dead.
