How & can this be done?

I want 2 domain names both sharing the same site...I'll like want to host all files on 1 website...

Would I have to actually purchase 2 sites all together or can something be done to only direct traffic from 1 domain name to the parent site...

Example
Lets say I go to Noter Dame College. So,to make my site popular I'll want to implement the school name in their via:www.NoterDameFrats.com ,I also want a site named www.NoterDamesoros.com. That can be a site where both fraternities & sororities view/browse...Instead of actually purchasing 2 websites. Can something be done when a browser goes to www.NoterDamesoros.com it be directed to www.NoterDameFrats.com?

You can forward www.NoterDamesoros.com to www.NoterDameFrats.com in your domain control panel, using forwarding feature

Or you can use the Park domain feature through your cPanel/WHM control panel :)

It isn't a "just do it" kind of thing in the control panel is it?

yes, if you want to have 2 domains. Then, just login control panel of www.NoterDamesoros.com, find the forwarding feature and follow the direction. I am sure that it's easy :)

But not sure about your reason :) If you want to have 2 domains point to one, that's the solution. If you want to host 2 domains within one hosting account, you can ask your hosting service provider about add-on feature. With it, you can host more domains in one hosting account. Each domain will have different web address, email accounts, ftp accounts....

Also, one hosting account may be sufficient if the provider offers free parking which some does. You can then set up your web site with the one domain and park the other domain on it afterwards (or use redirect through the control panel as already mentioned). You need to register both domains at the domain registrar.
