Just curious... I know that many of these religions are broad and have many different types, but its just general :) .

It's totally irresponsible for you to leave out HaleBop (Heaven's Gate)!!!! :D ;)

What religion are you if you believe in god but you don't practice it?

I have went to church before and I have went to buddah temples as well..... So what am I ? I don't believe in specific gods or religions but I don't believe there is a god.

Woohoo! Christians rule the board so far! Heh...

That would depend on what your beliefs are on God I think Synergy. There are several belief systems (I hate the word religion) that are based on God but vary greatly from the traditional christianity beliefs.

...

Seriously though, religion and God are not the same thing. It depends on what you worship and in what way.

I wonder why this thread isn't huge already?

That would give you a belief, but not a religion. A religion needs to be organised, like an institution. So belief and religion are different things (or belief and God as Tim put it).

At least that's how I'd argue it.

Where's the "not applicable" option?

I'm not talking about Atheism or Agnosticism, because those both accept the concept of god while respectively denying or being uncertain about its existance. What I'm talking about is denying the concept of god -- to take a frivolous example, substituting the words "Giant bowl of chocolate ice cream" for the word "god" wherever it appears.

I was just entertaining myself, don't try and figure it out. If that makes any sense to anyone, they better seek some professional help. :-)

sorry to sound cheesy, but "gods spirit is within you", or you could say, "god is everywhere" therefore:

127.0.0.1

:D

*everywhere* inside you, I think you mean to say, which would mean 127.255.255.255.

Ahh, now I understand why priests refer to the wafer as "the Host".

BTW, I don't see "Enlightened Hedonism" among the list of choices.

I'd say borderline agnostic.

Sorry to ruin your hopes, but it's not. What the registrar does is guesses what the replies will be in the Census, however the Census does NOT have the power to define one particular choice as a religion, therefore, in the UK, Jedi Knight is no more a religion than Chocolate Eaters :D

I don't like religion... it puts people like this (http://www.jesus.com) on the net.

Church is no fun either unless you get a holy super soaker and start spraying people to see who the sinners are. :D

religion causes way too many problems....I wish people would just follow whatever religion they want, but keep it to themselves.......why do the very religious types always hassle everyone else about their religion??? probably becuase they are insecure about it..

Not that I notice that happening too much.
But, why critisize for having a religion?
Why not keep that information to yourself?

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how the ACLU isn't talking?

I'm Baptisterian (Everything about me is Presbyterian except I do believe in baptism by immersion). So, by definition, I share Christian beliefs, but I don't totally believe everything about one particular denomination.

On the other hand, in my opinion, a Christian is a Christian. The seperate denominations are to keep everyone happy. :) However, I don't acknowledge Mormonism as a Christian denomination.

Just my $0.02.

Oh, for the person that asked how I got those numbers, get yourself into a text editor, hold down the alt key and press each of the numbers in sequence. When you get to a period release the alt key.

side note: you'll need to use the numbers on the numberpad. :D
