Being they resell for enom it would be best to go to the source and save a few bucks

Well with namecheap's great support I don't know about that.

Also enom charges $8.95 NameCheap is charging $8.88. You would think there Reseller Prices would be even better.

Dmaven, I suggest you wait and see the release. The control panel and features themselves go way above and beyond enoms.

That's what I was thinking! Sounds too good too be true! I am going to get an account for sure.
enetwork: Do you know if it will cost anything to join?
Thanks

I got a preview of NameCheap's Reseller Control Panel and it's way easier to navigate then Enom's. Good job NameCheap :agree: !

I agree. I wish more people would view this thread. It seems like it's not in the right one. A lot more people would be replying if it was.

Must be what you're used too I suppose, I came from OpenSRS to enom and found it a lot more intuitive.

I've just used the namecheap one, and it just appears to be a rearranged version of the enom interface with half the options hidden or simply missing, along with IMHO crap hard-coding of the screen width so 50% of my screen is whitespace and their site is some pathetic little bar down the centre

prices are ok for those not able to invest in a proper enom ETP account ( to get them @ 6.95 or 7.95), mostly $8.88
.biz $8.88 $8.88 $8.88
.info $8.88 $8.88 $8.88
.ws $28.88 $28.88 n/a
.cc $28.88 $28.88 $28.88
.tv $42.95 $42.95 n/a
etc.

the *interesting* way you have to rpovide a mnaul code to initiate a transfer is intriguing ...

twice it managed to tell me after searching for a domain "Domains were successfully added/ updated to the cart." followed by "Your shopping cart is empty. Register a new domain or Transfer your domain to us" so it needs a fair amount of work and testing before it gets anywhere near the general populace ...

*good luck* is all I can say ...

The prices are not going to be $8.88 he told methey would be around $8.00. Also they aren't done it yet. Still developing. At least though they have all the options in one bar.

Actually, the whole system is in test environment and not live at the moment. That is why you cannot make any *real* modifications or look ups with it. This was just meant as a preview to a client that asked for it. We still have alot to add. This is just the surface. Like I said, wait until the program is released before you pass judgement on it.

BTW here's just ONE of the features that I believe not many registars have including enom. Log into the interface and click on http://secure.unifiedregistrar.com/myaccount/grant-access.asp?domain=afreedomainname.biz&type=grant&rkey=oPk4u

I was basing it off *your* comment ...

Also enom charges $8.95 NameCheap is charging $8.88

when enom actuially charge $29 i think (retail), and as low as $6.95 for resellers.

site gives me alot of ASP/Acess/ODBC problems
msxml3.dll error '80072ee2' , The operation timed out , /myaccount/syncnow.asp, line 288 etc
[have emailled their techs so they can fix it]

At least though they have all the options in one bar.

Sorry, I dont understand what you mean? they have *some* of the options on a horizontal array of links as opposed to a vertical bar of links ? Which differs how in functionality ?

Anyway keeping it marginally on thread has your "insider" given any indication of any new features / services /products being available which are not simply rebadged enom facilities ?
i.e. are namecheap actually offering anything of their own through this new system ?

Othellotech read my post above if you want to see an example of a feature created "in house" . The "WhoisGuard" feature was also created by us to rival IDprotect and will also be cheaper than enom's IDprotect. Anyways, that is enough for now as I have mentioned previously the system is not yet finished.

BTW this system is meant as a direct competitor to enom's PDQ system, as they both work under the same premise, not to enom itself.

The management looks nice for giving access to people. Other than that, I don't see anything striking to be honest. IDProtect and such are a waste in my mind, just create a junk account and use it on WHOIS. If people are worried about their addresses, get a P.O. BOX :)

If you are going to resell then it will be cheaper to go to an ICANN registrar directly.

But I have to admit NameCheap has really good support. I asked 10 questions and got the answer within 30 minutes. No problem with them at all. Good registrar from my point even if they are an enom reseller. I think that they are better then enom actually.

If you don't need support or extra features then you are better off going to eNom directly and buying a $7.95-$6.95 account.

hmm for the extra $1 a year.. I'll stick to namecheap for all the extras and great support
