If you run a search on these boards you will find litterally 1000's of topics on this..

But everyone was to start Local advertise locally first to build up a client base, then move onto the internet advertising.

As Bushtree said, local. Concentrate on your local market.

Search engine optimization has been good to me, but it takes a very very very long time. You have to have an all star seo company in order to get good rankings with competitive hosting keywords.

I think local is the best way to advertise. Put all your money in local newspapers and even try radio and t.v. if not to pricely. I know if my "small" town not many web hosts around here so I get quite a bit of clients.

So how's that been working for you? I'm interested to know how local-only business is working with your only catch being hosting, since I've only seen people do it as a side offer since they did print design or the like.

I personally will be individually contacting local companies in a few months once I get myself off the ground.

What's the name of the SEO company you used?
