View Full Version : Support ticket helpdesk with these requirements
Rain Maker 01-29-2004, 02:27 AM I am looking for a support ticket helpdesk with these requirements. Any recommendations?
1) Does not requires login or registeration. Customer can send in emails and script will log it with a tracking number.
2) Send the full support response via email to the customer instead of sending an email notification requiring them to login in to view the response.
(I was thinking of PerlDesk but it requires the customer to login to to view response. Pls correct me if i am wrong.)
3) Multiple support emails.
For example if customer send a ticket to support@domain1.com, when we response the script uses support@domain1.com to reply. If customer send to support@domain2.com, script will reply using support@domain2.com
I think Cerberus has these features but are there any other options?
BF-Gary 01-29-2004, 02:36 AM This was discussed here:

I am sure you will find more in the Running a Web Hosting Business area.
Rain Maker 01-29-2004, 02:49 AM Thanks. I read that thread before. :)
I asking for recommendations for a script that fulfills my 4 requirements. Thanks.
SoftWareRevue 01-29-2004, 03:43 AM PerlDesk will do that. You can set it so they don't have to log in.
Rain Maker 01-29-2004, 03:45 AM Can PerlDesk do these?
2) Send the full support response via email to the customer?
(instead of sending an email notification requiring them to login in to view the response.)
3) Manage multiple support email addresses.
For example if customer send a ticket to support@domain1.com, when we response the script uses support@domain1.com to reply.
If customer send to support@domain2.com, script will reply using support@domain2.com
Swas-MARK 01-29-2004, 04:19 AM I highly recommend Kayako eSupport. I'm getting this software next month. Currently I'm using InverseFlow HelpDesk which will also do what you are asking however Kayako eSupport has many more features and is more user friendly.
Rain Maker 01-29-2004, 04:27 AM really, InverseFlow fullfills these 3 requirements?
1) Does not requires login or registeration.
2) Send full support response via email to customer.
3) Manage multiple support email addresses.
Does Kayako eSupport meet these requirements also? I thought esupport requires the customer to login in order to view response?
hostingisme 01-29-2004, 08:03 AM Kayako eSupport is not bad i like purlbill
Rain Maker 01-29-2004, 08:08 AM esupport does not fulfill my 3 requirements.
nickn 01-29-2004, 09:51 AM For a opensource solution, you can also try:

(ChrisS on these boards codes it, he may be willing to work with some users on making it a viable replacement for Kayako/PerlDesk, it's already a great product though.)

esupport does not fulfill my 3 requirements.
Actually, it does.
Rain Maker 01-29-2004, 10:32 AM It can send the full support response via email to the customer?
I thought esupport send an email notification to the customer and they need to click on a link in the email to view the response on the website?
NexDog 01-29-2004, 10:40 AM Nopes. Client never need log on at all. All done via email.
NexDog is right. It can be done all by email.
Rain Maker 01-29-2004, 10:52 AM can it manage multiple support email addresses?
NexDog 01-29-2004, 10:56 AM It can. :)
It can do almost anything, it is awesome. You can pipe email to sales or support or anywhere.
Rain Maker 01-29-2004, 11:40 AM Thanks a lot. NexDog!
