I'm looking to buy a new mouse for my pc.
I currently use MS Intellimouse which is busted due to intense gaming :D.
Does anyone experience any problems with optical mouse while playing games?
Mostly I'm talking about shooting games, like Counter Strike.
Thanks. :)

Well, i got an optical mouse (60 dollar explorer by microsoft, the best the store had) for playing tribes 2. Everything was peachy, till about 2 weeks in the light went out!??!? It goes out completely and won't come back until restarting. Then, everytime I move my mouse to the right more than a few inches, it goes out, and must reboot again. I sent it back to microsoft and they said they would replace it........

I use a Microsoft Intellimouse Optical. I do a bit of gaming (usually an hour a day, sometime much more) and I have been very happy with mine. I had some control problems the first few times I playe UT with it, but I have long since gotten used to it (ie learned how to be a little gentler and not cause the cursor, or my crosshairs, to jump around).

Playing games such as TFC, CS, and Max Payne (best game I have ever played), a 5 button mouse is a must. I had a Dexxa optical mouse, lasted about 3 months. I have since bought microsofts optical mouse and am very happy with it.
